Who is Rob Costlow

I’m going to *try* to keep this month’s update short so we actually send it out on time. We’ve been sort of flaky lately as we just switched to a new brand of ink for the typewriters and everyone has been a little loopy from the fumes. From the desk of Dr. Safran

Solo pianist Rob Costlow
Rob Costlow is one amazing piano monkey.

Congratulations to Lemonjuice for winning September’s Typing Challenge random drawing (of the top ten monkeys). For winning the drawing, Lemonjuice gets to choose something from our rewards page: http://www.100monkeys.org/rewards.shtml.

I want to offer my heartfelt thanks to the amazingly talented Rob Costlow. Rob spent an entire afternoon playing the piano for all of the monkeys. His soothing music echoing through the halls of the SIMI Institute helped produced some of the most memorable prose in SIMI Project history. For example, Bongo wrote, “pu me na, fo in ta da, i me mo na.” Stunning.

We have no promotional agreement with Rob. He’s a friend of mine and a true monkey and I wanted to help out his budding musical career. So, please, stop by his site and check out his music. If you end up buying one of his cds, let us know and we’ll send you a 100monkeys.org bumper sticker.

Rounding out the top 10 in September were:

1) monkey61: 352097
2) zanoni: 203352
3) giff: 137993
4) halbreim: 52000
5) Rheabird: 50239
6) soxnut: 30649
7) Pickles: 30257
8) pooplips: 27592
9) Lemonjuice: 16917
10) Chimppimp1: 15882

Good luck in October!
